Not long ago I decided to try my hand at knitting. So... scarves seemed the thing to do. They turned out better than I thought, so now I am looking at a pattern in an old 1970's knit and crochet pattern book that I have. It has a pattern for a garter stitch knitted afghan for baby that looks simple and yet very soft.
