Phew!!

I'm tired today.  Yesterday was an exciting, wonderful.. "I get to see my Dear Daughter, Dear GrandSon and his baby.. my Dear Great Grandson".. kind of day.  I just don't think babies can be any sweeter than when they are yours.. ;)

Older brother DGGS Lucas also had his picture taken, but he wasn't too happy about it. lol  Got to go to lunch with DGS and Lucas and what a joy that was.  Couldn't have been a better day.

This only required a 4 hour drive..2 ways.. lol  So 13 hours after I left,  I got back home last night.  But it was so worth it.

DGSons back surgery seems to be going well.  Of course he wasn't totally comfortable and still has to take pain meds, but the incision looks clean, dry and in good shape.  Hopefully after a few more days it will ease up even more for him.

Had terrible rain on the way home last night.  Downpour so heavy that if there had not been a big 18 wheeler in front of me with all those lights I would have had to pull over because I could hardly see the road.  This lasted for about 30 or 40 minutes, but finally slowed down as I got closer to home.  Whoever you are, kind sir, that was in that truck.. Thank you for being there and for not being one of those cowboy truck drivers who think they can manage that truck at 80 mph in any kind of weather.. :)

Gonna go rest and maybe nap the day away.. :)  Gonna give my honey a big hug and kiss because when I walked in the door last night at 7pm  he had supper ready.  And no.. you cannot have him. :)

Wonderful Surprise!

Our phone rang yesterday afternoon... What a wonderful surprise!

Grandson Jeff has just finished basic training in the Air Force and I am so proud of him.  Had a lovely visit and was just wishing it could have been longer.. ;)

It's Been a While....

Hello everyone... It's been a while. I got totally caught up in Facebook and being able to talk almost instantly with my family that ... well... you could say that I grew addicted...lol Anyway, hopefully the new is about off it and things will get back to normal. ;o)

We had our first snow last month...very unusual for this time of year. I don't mind the snow or bad weather as long as I don't have to go out in it..

Christmas was good... Sons in from Arizona and daughter and her family in from Oklahoma for a bit... Another bit of wonderment.. Her oldest son was married over the holidays. On the 30th. Wow! Doesn't seem possible. Just yesterday I was sitting in the nursery in Kentucky and feeding him a bottle... Congratulations again, Will and Savannah...





Will and Steven are two of the four grandsons that we have in the military. Steven ( in the dress uniform) will be leaving before long for Afghanistan. Will will finish training and will then head for Iraq. May the world soon regain some sanity.......

No Weight Watchers, Stress Test, Grandson to the Army

I have decided not to do Weight Watchers. After considering that each meeting...once weekly, therefore at least 4 per month... costs $13.00 and that this adds up to $52.00 per month...and then adding in the one time costs of $20.00 here and there for cook books and meal plans and etc, and etc... I think not. This is not to say that it is not a healthy way to lose weight...it just means that I don't think I want to spend the money ...consistently ...and in perpetuity ...if you get my meaning.

Anyway... I have been having some heart issues more frequently over the last few weeks. There is an appointment for a chemical stress test on Monday and I am soooo ready to have that over and done with. The angina attacks are coming more frequently than they have since before the first cardiac cath, so they are making me a bit nervous.

Grandson Steven is leaving for basic training in the Army on the 19th (I think)... That will make 3 grandsons and 1 son in the armed forces during this war. His mother is not taking it too well, even tho she is very proud of him. It's always difficult when the first one leaves to go that far away... knowing that when he returns he will a totally different person... much more adult and having had experiences that you will never know about or be able to understand even if you knew about them.

Home for a Minute

We got home this afternoon tired but relieved. DD has been in hospital so we made a rapid trip to central Oklahoma. Thankfully she got to go home yesterday morning and has done fairly well since then.

She loves her yard and had a bad moment when she reached to the ground to pull some weeds from one of her flower beds. These lovely violets make me green with envy every time I see them...

We got to see our grandson before we left this morning ... always a good thing.

Weigh In Friday #4 and Visits

It has been a pretty easy week... 192# today. That's 2# this week. I guess I am being a little impatient, but it sure seems like there is a lot to go....lol

I really like hot tea and it was difficult to find a spiced or herbal tea that is good without sweetener. I had some of this that I bought a few months ago and found that I really didn't like it too well...when I tried it without any sweetener I found it delicious!

We had a lovely visit with DD and grandsons yesterday. The weather was lovely with bright sunshine and it just put the top on a lovely day. With 2 in college 2 not far from college this is a soon to be rare opportunity for all of them to be in the same picture...
